Chesapeake L&D Team Offerings

Don't see something specific to your organization's present needs? Contact me and let's talk! I can customize virtual or in-person training events on a wide array of topics such as Personal Brand, Effectively Communicating, and Customer Service.

DISC

DISC is the universal language of observable human behavior.  You’ll learn about four basic behaviors within each of us – dominance, influence, steadiness and compliance.  During the DISC session, learn how these behaviors influence your own communication style, and increase your ability to see others’ styles as well. This will be a great first step for the employees at your company to get to know and better communicate with each other. This course is approximately 3 1/2 hours and is offered virtually or in-person.

Situational Leadership II or

The Situational Leadership Experience (SLX)

Everyone is a leader. It doesn’t matter if you’re the CEO or a new hire, fresh out of school. Based off the tenets of Ken Blanchard Companies’ theory of Situational Leadership, leaders will learn how to offer the direction and support needed by their colleagues and employees. We’ll discuss SMART Goals, how to diagnose where someone is on a task based on their competence and commitment, and how you can be a more versatile leader. SLII is approximately 3 hours and is offered in-person or virtually. The Situational Leadership Experience is only offered in-person and is approximately 12 hours.

Self-Leadership

Managers can’t read minds! That’s why Self-Leadership works perfectly in conjunction with Situational Leadership II. While SLII teaches the concept of situational leadership from a manager’s perspective, Self-Leadership focuses on the individual contributors. Set your own SMART goals and diagnose how to “manage up” so your manager knows what you need based on a skill or task. This course is recommended for employees whose managers have been through SLII or Situational Leadership Experience. This course is approximately 1 ½ hours and is offered virtually or in-person.

The Art of Feedback

This course focuses on delivering and receiving feedback in a culture founded on open communication. Participants will discuss what holds us back from clearly communicating with others and how to strengthen one-on-one and team relationships. Our conversations will be centered around different theories in conflict management. This course includes opportunities to practice delivering feedback in a safe environment. This course is offered virtually or in-person, and is approximately 3 hours.
